This program would provide an opportunity for policymakers, planners, and implementers to deliberate and formulate an action plan to overcome challenges of food security and sustainable development.

The format of the PRC Meeting is being amended so as to provide sufficient time for review and discussions on all issues under each programme, Instead of having all the sessions in the Plenary Hall, the discussions for the Major Programmes will be held in two groups of states and will be in smaller rooms to allow for better interaction between the programme heads in DORD and State Secretaries and other officers.

Since Government is stressing much on compliance with ACBP, all divisional Heads are therefore requested to nominate one or two DS/Director or equivalent officers from their Division for the Said Workshop.

The Annual Capacity Building Plan (ACBP) is a plan document that is developed based on the competency enhancement requirements of the officials of the MDO, which is ascertained through carrying out Competency Need Analysis (CNA) and prioritization of the competencies based on the requirement of the officials and also the importance of the competency to the ministry so that the resources invested by MDO on a capacity building are optimized.

The Department of Rural Development implements major rural development programs such as Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana– Gramin (PMAY-G), Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM), Deen Dayal Upadhyay – Gramin Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY), Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Rurban Mission (SPMRM), Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) and National Social Assistance Program (NSAP). It implements these programs through the State Governments/UT Administrations, aiming at the sustainable and inclusive growth of rural areas. The objective of these programs is to bring about overall improvement in the quality of life of the people in rural areas through employment generation, reduction in poverty by enabling poor households to access gainful self-employment, ensuring minimum national standards for social assistance, and provision of other basic amenities.
