The total length of National Highways notified in the Country was about 91,000 Kms when the present Government took charge in May 2014. We have been working assiduously for the expansion of the NH network during this period and I am happy to share that we have notified about 1,29,000 km length of National Highways as of date. The Ministry has spearheaded the construction of more than 28,000 km of National Highways till March 2018, which is no mean achievement. We constructed National Highways @ 27 km per day during FY 2017-18, registering a phenomenal increase, and we hope to reach a construction pace of about 35 km per day during the current financial year.
